SAT and ACT Preparation

SAT Preparation has never been more important.  Your scores are used to show colleges how well you understand many of the concepts that you need to be successful in college. From lines and angles, to experimental interpretation, and everything in between, we are here to help you solidify your mathematics skills so that you can get the score you deserve on the SATs.

SAT

The mathematics section has 44 multiple choice questions and 10 response questions which require you to fill in a response.

There are four categories or questions:
1. Number and operations
2. Algebra and functions
3. Geometry and measurement
4. Data analysis,statistics and probability

 

To do well on the mathematics section you have to be comfortable working with formula’s.
All questions are worth the same number of points.
Questions are arranged from easy to harder.
Guess on an answer only if you can eliminate one answer. You get one point for each correct answer and lose 1/4 point for each incorrect answer.

ACT

The ACT consist of 60 questions to answer in 60 minutes:

1. 33 Algebra ( 14 pre-algebra, 10 intermediate algebra, 9 intermediate algebra)
2. 23 Geometry ( 14 plane geometry and 9 coordinate geometry)
3. 4 trigonometry

 

There is NO penalty for wrong answers so answer every question.
